Iscove's Modified Dulbecco's Medium (IMDM) with 25 mM HEPES is recommended for a wide variety of cell culture applications. This medium is a modification of Dulbecco′s Modified Eagle′s Medium (DME) containing selenium, additional amino acids and vitamins, sodium pyruvate, HEPES buffer. Further studies demonstrated that Iscove′s Medium would support murine B lymphocytes, hemopoietic tissue from bone marrow, B cells stimulated with lipopolysaccharide, T lymphocytes, and a variety of hybrid cells. Iscove's Modified Dulbecco's Medium is frequently combined with fetal bovine serum (FBS, 10%) as Iscove's Modified Dulbecco's Medium composition does not include the growth factors, proteins, hormones, or lipids needed to promote cell growth.
